How It Works

How it works

One lozenge.
Eight minutes.
Then back inside.

You finish. You slide the lid. You let one dissolve while you walk back to whatever you were doing. That's the whole method — and every part of it is deliberate.

The timeline

What happens, when.

0:00

Slide

The lid moves one way, toward the A. One lozenge out. It's designed to be done with one hand, in a pocket, without looking.

0:15

Cool

Menthol reaches the back of the throat. The warm, dry, rough feeling after a cigarette is the first thing to change — and it changes fast, so you know it's working before anything else has started.

1:00

Coat

Marshmallow root, licorice and mullein begin forming a soft layer over the throat as the outer lozenge melts.* This is why we say don't chew: chewing ends the contact. Dissolving keeps it going.

4:00

Hold

Halfway. NAC, ivy leaf and thyme are in continuous contact with the mouth and throat — where the smoke actually touched.* Vitamin C and zinc are being absorbed through the same route. You're probably back at your desk, your table, your car.

8:00

Done

The lozenge is gone. Nothing to throw away, nothing to spit out, nothing left in your mouth but cool. Until the next one.

Why slow-dissolve

Thirty seconds does nothing. Eight minutes does.

Gum and mints are flavour delivery. They're bright for half a minute and then you're looking for a bin. A lozenge is a contact-time device: the longer it sits, the longer everything in it stays where it's needed.*

We pressed AFTERMINT to dissolve in about eight minutes at normal mouth temperature — long enough to cover the walk back inside, short enough that you never think about it.

Why after, not before

The minute after is the minute that matters.

Right after you smoke, the mouth and throat are warm, dry and coated. That's the window. Taking something twenty minutes later, or at bedtime, misses it.

AFTERMINT is built for that specific minute — which is why it comes in a tin that lives next to the thing you smoke, not in a bathroom cabinet.

Directions

Simple rules. Three of them.

01

One after each one

One lozenge, immediately after smoking. Not two. Not "later." The ritual is the point.

02

Don't chew

Let it dissolve on its own. Chewing cuts eight minutes of contact down to twenty seconds and wastes most of what's inside.

03

Max fifteen a day

That's the label limit. Our Heavy tier — 21 tins every four weeks — works out to exactly fifteen. Light is five, Moderate is ten. Every tier sits inside the line.
